Juan Carlos

Juan Carlos is originally from Cuba, born in Santiago de Cuba. For children in Cuba, dancing is part of everyday rituals, and it was his mother who taught him the Charleston when he was just nine years old. Just as we learn to ice skate in the Netherlands using a chair, Juan Carlos learned the basic steps of salsa dancing with a door! No one could enter or leave the house because he was practicing all day long. Dancing has always been his passion! Since the age of ten, he has danced popular, traditional, folkloric Afro-Cuban, and religious dances. At eighteen, he performed with the professional group Conjunto Folklorico Cotumba and the Ballet Folklorico de Oriente, later becoming a soloist at the famous Cabaret Tropicana. Six years later, he achieved the highest honor in the professional dance field in Cuba: joining the Conjunto Folklorico Nacional in Havana. For four years, he danced with this highly renowned dance company, which consists of around 95 members, including dancers, singers, and percussionists, traveling to Europe and Moscow. His immense talent, enthusiasm for dancing, and a combination of passion and creativity make him unique in the dance world.

Feline

Feline has been dancing since she was a child. In the Brinkgreve household, music was always playing, and dancing was a regular activity. At the age of 13, Feline started taking ballroom dance lessons. After reaching the top levels, she began competing in dance competitions. In addition to ballroom dancing, she also danced Riverdance, tap dance, jazz ballet, and ballet. Dance has always been a significant part of her life, and Latin dance has always been her passion. After high school, she was accepted into a dance program and graduated as a Dance Artist (trained as a dancer, dance teacher, and choreographer). During her dance training, she began teaching jazz ballet, children's dance, and Latin jazz classes at the Arts Center. At the end of her dance training, she met Juan Carlos in 2008 and was invited to join the demo team of Salsa Juan Carlos and assist with classes. Soon after, she started teaching her own dance classes, including salsa, jazz, and bachata. Feline has put Bachata Moderna and Bachata Sensual on the map in Groningen, and over time, this has seen significant development.
